Foundation boosts citizen science capability

Citizen science groups from Queensland and New South Wales converged at the Great Barrier Reef Foundation to gain insights into applying for much-needed funding grants.

Who was there?

The Foundation hosted representatives from its Great Barrier Reef Citizen Science Alliance for a one day grant writing workshop including:

  • Tangaroa Blue Foundation
  • Reef Check
  • Coral Watch
  • Wildlife Preservation Society
  • Spot the Leopard Shark
  • Grey Nurse Watch and
  • Taronga Zoo

With funding support from Boeing, the workshop is part of the Foundation’s commitment to help equip community-focussed organisations with the skills to sustain and grow their citizen science projects and actively involve the wider community in scientific research.
